Trainee Job Descriptions

By : Charles Danial

A trainee is basically a person with graduation with little or sometimes even no experience. The trainee job descriptions are based on rapid advancement of their careers. There are also many firms that are providing training schemes for the graduates. These are mainly provided by major corporate or banking fields. These trainee jobs are basically combined with formal training of the company with the on job training technique. During the training period the trainee is supposed to imbibe all the techniques and they cultivate several things like people management, project management, decision making etc.

The training might generally last from one to two years. There are also certain job descriptions that would have training with less than one year timing. The trainee job would give the trainees close training and also support. There would be a personal mentor who would guide throughout the training session and would also be responsible for their improvement and advancement towards their career.

These training prove efficient only when the training given is required and updated. If the training does seem fruitful then the entire career path of the trainee is ruined. The training helps people who have a clear idea of their future career and also for people who know the proper direction towards their goal. There are many training schemes that have proved to be irrelevant. So, one should pay attention very keenly to choose the training that might be required by them. The corporate hiring them would not sometimes give them large amount of responsibility until the training is completed.

Getting Started on Twitter: 25 Tips For Job-Seekers to Take Advantage of the Web's Best-Kept Job Search Secret

by Susan Whitcomb

Twitter.

There's been lots of buzz about it. Perhaps you even visited the site, created an account, or dabbled with tweeting. Not love at first sight, right? If you're like most people, you're not alone in wondering, "What's the point? How can this cacophonous site -- crammed with apparently tangential, disconnected information -- possibly help my job search?"

Do keep an open mind! Although Twitter has a learning curve (as is the case with all good things), you can find value from Day One, whether just dabbling as a NOOB (Twitter shorthand for newbie) or committing to becoming a power user. Here are 25 tips to get you started:

  • Lurk First. Sit back and study what's happening on Twitter before jumping in with both feet. You can do this even before setting up your own Twitter account by going directly to Twitter user's streams (for example, you can see my Twitter stream at www.twitter.com/susanwhitcomb or my coauthors in The Twitter job Search Guide (JIST, 2010), www.twitter.com/chandlee and www.twitter.com/CEOCoach). You can also visit www.monitter.com and search keywords of interest to you.
  • Think Strategic When Setting Up Your Twitter Account. Many people vacillate between using their own personal name (such as JohnDoe) or profession (such as CFOintheKnow). There are advantages to both, but using your real name can add to your name recognition. If you have a common name that is already taken on Twitter and want to use your name, add a designation that matches your profession, such as JohnDoeCPA or JohnDoeSalesExec.
  • Write an Employer-Focused "160me" for Your Twitter Profile. Twitter allows you 160 characters max to describe who you are. Give them a taste of the return-on-investment they'll receive from hiring you. For example: "Go-to resource for publicity for nonprofits. Earned org's cover stories in regional mags; PR delivered 10s of thousands in contributions."
  • Point Employers to More Information. In your profile, include a link to a site where employers can get more information about you, such as your resume at VisualCV.com or your profile at LinkedIn.com.
  • Include a Professional Photo. Leaving off a photo is an invitation for people to dismiss you. Your photo should be as professional as you look when going to an interview -- your absolute best. A greater sense of connection seems to take place between followers and followees when each of you can see what the other really looks like. If you use an avatar, be on brand. Some people use avatars rather than a real photo -- these sites are great starting points for avatars: BigHugeLabs.com and SouthParkStudios.com.
  • Don't Rush to Follow at First. When you follow people on Twitter, it's likely they will consider following you back. If your history of tweets (your "tweet stream") isn't interesting or it's non-existent, you'll lose the opportunity to gain new followers. Instead, put out some interesting tweets first.
  • Tweet On-Brand. Tweet primarily about things that relate to your profession. Read news feeds, blogs, and other resources for relevant, fresh content.
  • Set Up Google Alerts for Tweet Content. Go to Google.com/alerts to set up alerts for industry trends, news on your target companies, and more sent directly to your email. You can then be the first to tweet about it.
  • Use a Third-Party Application (API). Twitter can appear disorganized and confusing. APIs such as TweetDeck.com, HootSuite.com, and Seesmic.com help organize tweets into columns of your choosing, such as those that reference your name, those that contain a relevant hashtag or keyword (such as #forensicaccounting), or a list of followers you are particularly interested in.
  • Follow People Who You Want To Know You. Follow companies on your list of target companies, employees in those companies, potential networking contacts, recruiters, industry leaders, and others who might help connect you to the people with the power to hire.
  • Explore Twitter's Advanced Search Feature. Search Twitter's advanced search function at www.search.twitter.com/advanced to search for opportunities (e.g., #jobs #portland #finance) or people.
  • Search Beyond Twitter. Use sites like TweepSearch.com, Twazzup.com, Tweetzi.com, or Tweefind.com to find people (e.g., recruiters, finance).
  • Use the 75-25 Rule When Tweeting. When in job-search mode, approximately 75 percent of your tweets should be professional, while 25 percent can be more of a personal nature (e.g., "Looking forward to my 25-mile ride through the Blossom Trail this weekend."). Use discretion with your personal tweets!
  • Tweet, Tweet, Tweet, But Don't Get Sucked In. Be careful that your time on Twitter is focused and productive. Consider a 15-minute-a-day model where you spend five minutes in the morning, noon, and afternoon. During that time, you might tweet about an interesting industry trend, retweet someone's tweet that would be interesting to your followers, and send an "at" (@) message to someone based on an intereting comment in their tweet stream.
  • Retweet -- The Highest Form of Flattery. Retweet (RT) interesting tweets from your networking contacts. Imagine how impressed a prospective employer might be when he/she sees you retweeting information that will promote the company.
  • Turn Your Twitter Conversations into Phone and Face-to-Face Conversations. You'll eventually want to shift the conversation from Twitter to a voice conversation or live meeting. Watch for opportunities, and act immediately when they present themselves.
  • Time Your Thank You's. As you engage people on Twitter, people will recommend you, retweet you, and compliment you. Consider thanking these people at off-times (late in the evening, early in the morning) so they don't clog your tweet stream.
  • Schedule Your Tweets. In some cases, you'll want to schedule your tweets in advance if you know you'll be unable to tweet. SocialOomph.com is a free service that will allow you to do that. HootSuite.com is another.
  • Go Mobile. Set up mobile alerts so you can stay in touch with Twitter friends while on the road. Tweetie is a favorite iPhone app. Android users can check out twidroid.com.
  • Sign up for TweetMyJobs Alerts. Every job seeker, whether a Twitter user or not, should visit www.TweetMyJobs.com to sign up for mobile-phone alerts of jobs relevant to their profession and geographic area. It's simple and free to jobseekers, and a lot less expensive for employers than some of the traditional job sites such as Monster and CareerBuilder.
  • Use Hashtags. Hashtags, represented by the # sign in front of a word (e.g., #accounting, #finance, #programming, #healthcare), are used on Twitter to help users find all the tweets with that hashtag. Use them religiously! You can find a hashtag directory at hashtags.org. Or, simply watch for the hashtags used by your favorite tweeps to get an idea of the latest hashtag lingo.
  • Let Your Followers Know You're Looking. One savvy jobseeker posted this hashtag-heavy tweet to gain the attention of employers and recruiters: "Looking to leverage my awesome #transportation #trucking #logistics & #supplychain tweeps to find #employment in #Charlotte NC. Suggestions?" Consider tweeting this type of information weekly.
  • Get Career Advice on Twitter. Follow savvy career coaches and job-search strategists for great career tips (such as this list) or search for hashtags such as #careercoach #resumes #jobsearch #twitterjobsearch.
  • Use Lists to Find People.Check out Listorious.com to find lists of people of interest in your target companies or profession. Similarly, check out the lists that other Twitter users have created.
  • Give, Give, Give Before You Go Asking for Help. As in all networking, look for ways to be of help to others before asking them for help. If you start off on Twitter with a tweet that says: "Lost my job. Anybody know of job openings?" You'll not likely get much help.

The Highest-Paid Medical Jobs

By : Anthony Balderrama

Income is all relative, not only when you compare your income to someone else's, but also when you compare it to the different stages of your career. Ideally, your salary as you near retirement is higher than what you earned during your teenage or college years. Your view of what constitutes a high salary also evolves over time.

Common first jobs are part-time or temporary summer gigs that put some cash in your pocket and let you start saving up for a car. At that age, you're just happy to have money you can call your own. You might earn a little more in college, or you might earn less if you're an unpaid intern. When you decide to take a job that's a step toward the career you want, you get serious about salary requirements and benefits. You're more likely to shop around so you know what you should be earning and can negotiate your salary.

How does your salary stack up?
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the national mean income of all full-time workers is $41,231. When you look at that figure, you realize the average person isn't loaded and bringing home six figures every year. Not only are most Americans not in the financial stratosphere of the overspending, gaudy caricatures on reality TV, but we're not even near the fictitious income levels of TV characters. Your favorite TV cop or journalist might have a normal job, but a salary of $41,231 doesn't allow you to live in a sprawling (and smartly furnished) condo in Manhattan.

Still, for a mean salary to exist, someone has to earn less and someone else has to earn more. In some careers, certain workers are earning more. Much more. In some cases, 10 times the national mean. As you might expect, many of these jobs are in health care, and the biggest moneymakers require an M.D. Health care is growing and will continue to grow for the foreseeable future, so the combination of demand, educational requirements and experience to attain those jobs positions them for good pay.

To give you a glimpse of which workers are earning the biggest bucks, here's a list of the highest-paying medical professions today:

Top surgeon

Best Places for Entry-Level Jobs

By : Anthony Balderrama

Entry-level jobs are most workers' first forays into the professional world. Few of us went from unemployed to high-ranking employee overnight. In fact, unless your family name is displayed on a skyscraper, an entry-level job is unavoidable.

Although employers decide which positions in their organizations are entry-level, they usually define them as jobs requiring two years of experience or less. These positions can come with various education requirements, ranging from some schooling up to completion of a bachelor's degree, depending on the industry.

In their book "200 Best Jobs for College Graduates, 4th Edition," Laurence Shatkin and Michael Farr list some of the best entry-level jobs available. Shatkin and Farr looked for jobs with a high concentration of workers between 20 and 24 years old. They looked beyond what the starting salaries are and sought careers that have potential for growth and higher salaries in the future.

Of course, entry-level jobs aren't merely for the early 20-somethings, so don't think the list can't apply to you if you're outside of that age range. For example, many workers are switching careers in this economy because their industry isn't thriving. Many veteran workers realize that they've spent years in the wrong field, return to school, get a degree and find themselves starting over again.

For anyone looking for an entry-level position, we wanted to make your search a little easier. We took some of the best entry-level jobs, according to Shatkin and Farr, and determined where the best salaries are offered, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Here are eight entry-level jobs with high earning potential, their average beginning salaries and the areas that offer the best long-term pay.

Why is it so hard to eat right? “When you’re hungry, you’re not a philosopher,” explains Dr. Daisy Merey, a physician and authority on eating habits.
Indeed, food -- and especially the lack thereof -- brings out our animal nature. And when we homo sapiens find ourselves in the artificial environment of the workplace, complete with its stresses, catered temptations, psychosocial dramas, smelly refrigerators, bureaucratic tedium and, yes, vending machines, we are animals who eat badly more often than not. “You’re sitting in a room with no windows for hours, and sometimes you just get bored and eat,” says Natalie Davis-Runyan, a regional vice president for staffing firm Todays Office Professionals. And if you eat what’s within reach, such as cafeteria food, high-calorie snacks and so on, you’re alarmingly likely to develop health problems. What can you do to improve what you eat at the office, which for many of us is the bulk of what we consume all day? Here are a few approaches to better nutrition in the land of heartburn and the pizza-sized chocolate chip cookie.

Bring Your Own Food The consensus of health and nutrition professionals is that you’ll eat much better if you plan ahead and pack a lunch. “You have to be prepared and bring food that’s healthy,” says Merey. “A brown bag is always better than a restaurant or vending machines.” Brown baggers are a small but significant contingent of the workforce. “There’s about 25 percent of the people who bring their own lunches and walk away from the birthday cake,” says Davis-Runyan. Your planning should go beyond a lunch that includes fruits and vegetables and not too much sugar or fat. “Ideally, you want snacks with fiber, protein and carbs,” says Elysse Lakatos, a registered dietitian. For example, “pistachios have those nutrients, and it takes time to shell them,” she says -- time that can give your craving a chance to subside before you stuff yourself.

Control Portions to Control Your Waistline
Whether it’s a meat entree or guilty snack in a bag, you’ve got to control portions to eat healthfully at the office. The key is to portion out at home what you’ll be eating in the break room. If you must snack on fat-infused carbohydrates, try pre-portioned 100- or 150-calorie bags. “We have a natural tendency to finish the bag, whatever the size, even though people can satisfy cravings with small amounts,” says Miriam Pappo, director of clinical nutrition at Montefiore Medical Center.

Get Real About What’s Healthy
Educate yourself to understand what’s really nutritious. Those little cheesy fish-shaped crackers may be less nutritionally damaging than most potato chips, but they’re still not health food. “There are a lot of foods that we think are healthy, but they’re not,” says Pappo. “One of the biggest is muffins; even a regular doughnut can have many fewer calories.” Still, sometimes you can fool yourself in a good way. “People who hide candy in a dark container are less likely to eat it than if they put it in a glass bowl,” says Merey.

Advocate for Institutional Change
Employees should bring their nutritional needs to management, which often controls the cafeteria as well as the vending machines. “The food service is a money maker for hospitals, so they want to balance what is healthy with what is profitable,” says Pappo. Unfortunately, unhealthy foods often make the most money because they sell so well. Then there are catered lunches, those stacks of meaty sandwiches and mountains of over-the-top desserts mandated by executives looking to trigger each others’ budget envy. The first solution to try is the simplest: “Ask the people who are ordering if they can change the food,” says Tammy Lakatos, a registered dietitian and sister of Elysse Lakatos.

Take Special Care If You’re a Woman
Finally, women should remind themselves that their cardiovascular health is of great concern, media emphasis on men’s heart attacks notwithstanding. “More women than men die of heart disease each year,” says Dr. Aliya Browne, clinical director for the Hainesport Women’s Heart Center. And women may have more difficulty staying away from unhealthy foods at the office, according to Browne: “We can become a bit more stressed than men, and that can make us more emotional eaters.”

Get Good Leads For Great Jobs

By : Floweradvisor.com

Looking for a job is not a new experience for anyone who ever applied for college in a university or transferred to a new school. It is not always easy to get in to your preferred institution because you have to pass an application form and other requirements, pass their entrance examinations, answer interview questions, and the like. After that, all you can do is pray and wait for a confirmation that you have passed the following and after that, what you have to do is talk to them about when the first day is and what school materials are needed to get you prepared for the big day.

It sounds like an "easier-said-than-done" situation, and it is. To have a sure shot job by the end of the month, you might have to pass 10-20 resumes to different companies of your choice (or sometimes if you are really desperate, companies that is least of your liking). You have to put persuading and impressive contents in your resume to make you look credible enough for a company to let you take an entrance test or an interview (make sure the contents are true/real, don't make up one or fake it). You have to be the highest or ace the test to get in the cut. You have to be confident when answering interview questions.

If you are a first timer in applying for a job, then you might as well be welcomed to rejections and lies, just like the rejections from the girl you asked for a date or your girlfriend goofing off and tell you a different story why she got home too late that time while you were a student. There will be a lot more in applying a job you are not the only one in the whole country wanting to be employed, every year a bunch of fresh graduates will look for a job and maybe just one out of that thousands has already occupied that office, that table, and maybe even that secretary you have dreamed of.

In a market full of companies selling similar products or provide common services, there will always be competition. So when you are applying for a position in company A and they said they'll call you back if you got in but they just said that to be polite, why don't you give a copy of your resume to company B? Some companies say they will contact you to tell you if you got in, don't hold on to that too much. In ten companies you applied who said this, maybe just one or two might actually call you back for an initial interview.

A company would have that perspective of anyone who had their hearts broken and in hope for a new lover: "There are so many fish in the sea". A company will post an ad in a newspaper or on the internet for an opening, but sometimes, with ten applicants who applied for that opening, only one may make it. So if you want that job, you have to be your very best. Here are some tips you can make use of in getting that job:

You should opt for a company that you feel you can create a change or difference, wherein you can perform well. Your hard work will be paid-off, by the company.

Before you pass or send your resume, include a cover letter that particularly concentrates on the companies' conditions, wants or requirements.

The resume should be short but precise. It should be orderly and professional. You should include employment dates. Provide causes how you found and why you left each positions. Add particulars of your accomplishments.

Employers seek for your education, training abilities, practice or knowledge and your intense yearning to be successful in the position.

Some companies ignore the fact of how much you compensate at your previous job. What's important to them is how they will benefit from you more than you will benefit from them.

How To Land The Perfect Marketing Job

By : Jon Caldwell

There are distinctive levels of interviews, from the preliminary one to the final selection. Each stage will offer different levels of intricacy and require different preparation, but with this basic bag of facts, you are ready to face any interviewer. Two important interview tips to remember are to answer truthfully and not to act haughty. Take the enough time to answer each one of the questions. An important facet is never to imagine that you have gotten the position, because employers can pick up on this. This could very well play against your odds during the hiring stage. Follow through the entire interview until the very end.

1. Research about the company where you have a scheduled interview. Study company facts; use the internet to explore more about the company. It may have an internet website so there's no excuse for you not to be aware about what is going on in the company.

Get a piece of paper or index card, write down tricks on how to answer several questions you might have difficulty in answering. It may be about contenders, profits, their products, if they were in the news (good or bad press), maybe even an annual report. Create an organizational chart too, so that it will be clear to you the company's management structure.

2. When they said, you got to dress to impress, they were not kidding. Surely make an impression on your first meeting, the interview. This is the important part of the hiring process, so if you want some consideration, put on outfits to show you are serious about getting this position.

Find the perfect business attire, shoes and accessories. It should look like you mean business here and yet you are comfortable wearing it. Hair should be cleans and styled, same goes for the nails. It should be clean but if you should wear a nail polish its advisable not to apply outland-ish or trendy colors.

3. Having some kind of work experience is a "plus points" when they see that in your resume. A company who has two applicants, one with experience and then the other without any, they will most consider the one with experience. Companies will hire applicants who they will not invest too much for trainings. They want employees that will need not too much of the sort and bring the company forward. That is why some companies would require work experience.

4. Speaking of experience, you must have some written output or presentations still remaining in your file cabinets or laptops? Bring them to your interviews, show your works to them. These will serve as proof you can do tasks this job. Compile them and put them into a portfolio. Review them first, and then choose your best works. (Inscription samples, business strategies, collateral equipments, research projects, and the like.) Again, this will be a "plus points" to consider. This might look like real work experience since there will be hard copies to present. It never hurts to be prepared

5. On a separate sheet of paper, place there your professional preferences. Other information and data, old or new, may still come in handy so it is an option to bring them along. Make sure former addresses and phone numbers can be found there. As well as address and contact details of former employers, your driver's license, accountable like your past salaries, grade point average (GPA), your university or college address, contact details and personal references. This information is usually found on resumes already, but some just forget them or they are incomplete. You may never know when your interviewer or employer asks for them.

You'd be surprised if you find a fact many junior employees who do not understand their job due to 'lie' in its application. In order to get a job, they are willing berbohog and can do the job. In fact, never heard it. If you do not learn quickly, you might even get 'downsized' employees.

6 boss needs you
You work very well. campaign unfortunately did not come. What's up? Apparently berrada boss needs you remain in that position. If you are a reliable assistant to the boss, do not be surprised if employers do not want to lose you.
